Arms & Armour for Sale

Both new and "used" equipment for re-enactors and collectors

Many people have contacted the editors asking for sources for arms and armour reproductions. For a time we designed an e-commerce site where merchants of fine equipment and accoutrement could take orders via the web, since Brian does this as a profession. Because everything concerning this site is on a volunteer basis, the commerce site has yet to get off the drawing board. The pieces you see are probably available for immediate purchase, subject to prior sale.

Most, if not all of the pieces pictured below have been executed in my shop or by artisans in our immediate community. It is my pleasure to create armours for the love of the art, rather than as a full-time business, so I can now focus on creating pieces that push my technical ability and satisfy something of an artistic streak. To this end I will sometimes work on pieces to explore new techniques or design elements, finishing the pieces and laying it on the shelf. These pieces will be included here on the KCT site and made available as a way to offset some of the expense this site incurs on the monthly basis.

Many of the artisans featured on this page are professionals, creating medieval reproductions on a full-time basis. Almost everyone on the page will consider commissions, and it is my hope to add artist "summary pages" to the section as a way of easing contact with them and providing easy access to the details expected for purchase of existing pieces or of commissions.

Garage Sale and Pieces from Techniques of the Medieval Armourer
Most of what you find below is part of my armour 'garage sale'; pieces that I have finished up after a very long hiatus from the art to make way for the new. But there will be some pieces coming soon from Techniques of the Medieval Armourer. There are other pieces for this book as well, such as a complete bascinet with Klappvisor, detailed hourglass gauntlets, sabatons, greaves and a complete Churburg arm harness, but these are already spoken for. Send email if you are interested in any of the following:

To purchase pieces shown below
Any of the pieces on this page are for sale. When sold, they will move to the Gallery or Folio pages to that the images are available full time. Some pieces will remain on these pages if copies of them are in stock. Such pieces would be spaulders, elbow cops, brigandines, and the like.

On each page the piece's details are offered along with contact information for the artisan. All prices quoted are in U.S. dollars, without shipping and insurence. Sizes are noted where appropriate, but you should be aware that these pieces are made for display purposes only, the artists bearing no responsibility for their use in any other activity. A quick email query would be a smart thing before sending a check, as these pieces may be subject to prior sale.

If you have something you wish to sell, your pieces can be listed here for a very small commission. Digital photography is available.
