About the Editor

Well met and warmest greetings-

My name is Sean A. Garrison and I am the new editor for the Tournaments section of the KCT library. I hope that it isn¹t too untoward of me to offer a bit of information about myself so here goes...

I am a writer by vocation and I currently pen a weekly opinion column for the Louisville Eccentric Observer. I also have a position with a private internet-based book dealer. We deal primarily in modern 1st Editions and Civil War books. What fun! Don¹t you wish you were me? When I am not feverishly typing away or dusting off old and festering tomes, I try to make time to write a song or two. Some of the artists that I have written for recently are Freakwater and Sally Timms, both of which are involved in the Insurgent Country music scene. Although I retired from live performance recently, my last album will probably be released sometime next year on the Catamount label. Why did I quit the music business? Well, to devote more time to medieval studies!!

My primary interests lie in the Tournament culture of the 14th and early15th centuries but I also enjoy studying the Hundred Years War as well as the Wars of the Roses. I read as much as time will allow and I am always looking for new insights and new sources concerning the history of the Tournament. Feel free to point me in the direction of your favorite works. Also, if you observe glaring errors in any of my rantings here or if you just plainly disagree with my observations, feel free to drop me a line and tell me where I can shove my Poleaxe.

I have been involved in the SCA sporadically since 1987. I would have withdrew from re-enactment completely if it had not been for this web site and Brian¹s other wonderful creation- Chronique. Through interacting with members of the various SCA-based Tournament Companies, my interest was rekindled and now I feel the need to spread some of that energy around. This is a fine place to begin such a quest! I¹ll see you at the Barriers-
